Hi community!

I've been working on a excel document for a while, trying to use conditional formatting to highlight areas depending on choices made in lists.

Selection

What one wrong answer look s like now
What I want one wrong answer to look like

f1
b1

w2

So basically what I want to do is to have a conditional formatting that formats the contents only if all five cells are correct.
Due to the policies of my workplace I'm not able to use any type of macros and VBA.

Best regards,
Johan

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Maybe

=AND(B2=A2,B3=A3,B4=A4,B5=A5,B6=A6)

Thanks for your reply!

Yes that would work for a small data set, what I forgot to mention is that my data set has thousands of entries (grouped as 5 cells) so it need to be some sort of conditional formatting that I can apply to the entire sheet.

I was thinking of something like:

=AND(INDIRECT(ROW()&COLUMN())=$A$2,INDIRECT(ROW()+1&COLUMN())=$A$3)

It accepts the formula, but it doesn't seem to give me anything.
The 5 cells that contain the answer that I want to check against are called $A$2, $A$3, $A$4, $A$5, $A$6

Are the groups of 5 separated by other data/blank rows?

Maybe you could post a slightly larger sample.

They are not separated by blank rows or other data. The first cell in the set will always be named f+number, second cell b+number and so on. Hope it clarifies it a bit.

A small bump to see if this can get some more help since I'm stuck on my own!

Thanks in advance,
Johan
