I have what I think is a beginner Access question. How do I copy down a row in Access? I want to do the equivalent of the drag and drop in Excel, but I have no idea how to do it in Access. If I write Me in row 1, I want to drag it down the rest of the rows in my database.

Thanks.

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
As far as I know you can't do this sort of thing in Access.

Access is a database and instead of rows you have records.

What are you actually trying to do?

copying rows in Access

if you are in Table, datasheet view and Me is in record one and you arrow down to the next record, press CTRL and apostrophe to duplicate the previous row. If you already have say 100 records in your table and just need to update a new field so it all says the same thing, you are better off creating an update query to populate the field.

let me know what you are trying to do and i can walk you through it.
