I have a problem here and I have searched the forum and not found anything like this. I have a set of data that I would like to rank from lowest to highest cost.

I'd like to be able to copy and paste the conditional formatting that I've already done on row 2 to the rows below. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to look.

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.

Try looking at your conditional formatting cell references. It's likely they're using absolute cell referencing and you want relative cell referencing.

Removing the dollar signs ($) from your (Conditional Formatting) cell references will convert them to relative referencing, which allows for copying & pasting in other locations and have the formatting follow along.

Does that help?

Hmmm... what version of excel are you using?
I'm using '03 here and it lets me remove those characters just fine but I don't have my '07 here to see how that reacts.

I don't know of any reason why you shouldn't be able to remove those characters or use a relative address in an 07 conditional format.
Makes me wonder if there's something else involved that I don't know about.

Basically I want to look at each of the cells highlighted and have the lowest one green and the highest red. I'm not sure why its not working either.
