I have a program that is reading values in a graphical format from a website using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and inputting them into Excel for me. The values must have been copied in some strange web format because it seems they are not fully recognisable. When I highlight 9 rows I only get a report of 'Count: 9' in the information bar at the bottom of the Excel page, and not values for 'Average:' and 'Sum:'

If I try and highlight and SUM a few rows manually I get a result of '0'.

How can I change the format of these numbers into something that Excel recognises?

Dan

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
It sounds like you have numbers stored as text.

Try selecting a column of numbers, Data > Text to Columns, tick Delimited then click Finish.
