Dear Sir,

i need an excel formula to fill in the following in a list;
eg:

030144
030289
030283

note: the first 2 digits remain same whereas the last 4 digits[service code] change, hence i need a formula wherein i only put the service code and the cell should show the entire 6 digit starting with 03.....

the codes are always 6 digits. eg: 030001, 030100, 031000 etc...

Thanks for your help
ryz.

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
You can format the cells to do that...

Highlight the cells where you want to do that,
Right click and choose " Format Cells ",
Choose the " Number " tab,
At the bottom choose " Custom ",
Click on one of the choices to the right,
and notice that the choice appears at the top of the column,
Then edit that choice at the top and type in only;
"03"#

That should do it...☺

Dear Sir,

One issue has come up after formatting the cells with your given help, but the formula bar does not reflect the 6 digits, it only shows the number that is typed in the cell eg: 1, 24, 100......etc...

Is there any way to get the entire 6 digits in the formula bar?

Thanks,

I don't know of a way...

The Formula bar is set to show you what is actually in a cell, just like when a formula is there, you want to see the formula...
