I can't figure out how to this. Basically, when I copy and paste the formula vertically, how do I get excel to change the column not the row.

When you copy a formula vertically, you can only change the number of the row (1,2,3... not the column name, A, B, C, D...) how do I change the column name when I copy and paste the formula vertically.

You will probably need to make use of the INDIRECT function, along with the ROW() and COLUMN() function to pull the row/column numbers that the formulas currently reside in.

If you can post your formula, tell us what cell it resides in, and where you want to copy it to, we might be able to help you out with that.
