Copy Paste

Hello,
This may be a really dumb question.
Here goes:

Cell A1 contains the text "Master Cell"
Cell A2 contains the formula "=A1"

Is there a way to simply and easily copy cell A2 and paste it in cell A3 such that the content of cell A3 is "=A1" ?

Basically I'm looking for an operation that performs in the same way as Cut/Paste, inasmuch as it maintains references to absolute cells, but it leaves the "Cut" cell intact.

Thanks
B

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
I believe you will need to enter it as =$A$1 and copy down.
