Hello,

I am working on a Balanced Scorecard with the Target beeing in the top column and the actual result underneath. I know how to create the conditional formatting for one cell with greater than is green, equal is yellow and less than is red. My question is whether there is a way to copy that formatting so each cell changes its color depending on the value in the cell above? When I copy the formatting I end up with the cells changing the color but based on the value in the original cell. I hope my question makes sense.

regards
Tim

Welcome to MrExcel.

When you enter your conditional formatting formula make sure that the cell references are relative (no $ signs). Then you will be able to copy it elsewhere and the references will adjust.
