What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
I don't know if there's an efficient way of doing this but you could try recording a macro while you open one of your files and copy its contents into a new sheet. You could then run the macro on each file, or even modify it to work through a list of filenames.

How many sheets are used in each file?
If you want to copy one sheet from a file you can create a new file and leave it open. Then open each file and right click on the page tab to copy and choose copy sheet and choose your new file as the destination to copy to.
