The next sixteen columns (B1 through Q1) have variable labels. Each time I get a response from one of the variables that I am tracking I manually place the number “1” in the cell that corresponds to the intersection of the current date row and the column for the variable that is responding. That is usually about four variable responses a day. At the end of each month I have a row that sums the “1s” in the column for each individual variable for that month. I do that with the formula “=SUM(B2:B32)”. I drag that formula across the SUM row “B33:Q33” so all the column letters index automatically. Here is what I am having trouble doing. When I am done inputting each day’s data I want to copy the row for that day and paste it to the right in a different field. Say reproduce row B2:Q2 in row S2:AH2. I then want to copy the SUM row“B33:Q33” at and paste the VALUES only, not the formulas in, row S3:AH3. I want to lock the SUM data in time. I keep getting the formulas from the SUM row reproduced in row S3:AH3. So if say row B2:Q2 represents a Monday then when I put in Tuesday data row B3:Q3 the SUM data for Monday row S3:AH3 changes. I don’t want that. How do I stop the updating? Also the SUM row “B33:Q33” has conditional formatting that changes the cell’s back ground color based on relative value of its sum. It would be sweet if the background color moved with the values to the S3:AH3 row, but if that is not possible I can live without it. I can do all of this by hand, of course, but the description I have given here is downsized from the actual project for simplicity. Doing this by hand is a major effort each day.
