Hi all,
I am trying to copy a formula from one cell into about another 1600 cells. But when I paste it, it puts in the incorrect cell number for example:

=IF(COUNTIF(G3:G1609,C3)>=1,"KEEP","DELETE") this is the formula I want to copy it and paste it into the next row down. But I get I get this:

=IF(COUNTIF(G4:G1610,C4)>=1,"KEEP","DELETE") How can I keep it the same formula like this

=IF(COUNTIF(G3:G1609,C4)>=1,"KEEP","DELETE") and so on. I got 1609 rows and don't really want to go and edit every cell.

Many Thanks.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Hi,

You need to anchor the range:

=IF(COUNTIF($G$3:$G$1609,C3)>=1,"KEEP","DELETE")

Use the excel help menu and look up "Switch between relative, absolute, and mixed references".

regards,
Jon :)
