Copying formulas using absolute cell references

Hi all,

How do i copy a formula from one cell to another with out changing the cell references.

A2 - =A1*4

I want A3 to =A1*4, NOT A2*4.


I know you can put a $ sign to prevent this but ive got quite complicated formulas and it will take me an age to go into them all and insert $ signs.

It may still take a little while, but you can place the cursor over the reference you want to make absolute and then press F4. Unfortunately, I don't know a faster way.

Maybe someone else might know?

Repeated pressing of F4 scrolls through the various options of full absolute, row only, column only, back to nothing.

highlight each part of the formula you want to make absolute and press F4 only once. Then highlight the next one and so on. At the end, press Enter.
