I am working with the indirect formula on a workbook that has a tab for every year from 1985 to 2010 and a Summary sheet. The summary sheet formula looks like: =indirect(y$7&"!$O31"). My problem comes when you copy this formula to other rows, because I have the row address in quotes it remains the same. I have tried changing the formual to =indirect(y$7&"'!"&$O31), but I get a REF!. Do you know of a way a change the row address without going into each formual?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
=INDIRECT(ADDRESS(31,25,,,Y7))
The 31 and 25 can be linked to cells which contain those numbers, or you can use a combination of ROW() ad COLUMN().
