Copying named ranges

I have a workbook that has about 3600 named ranges. I have another workbook that has extensive external references to the first workbook. I think I could dramatically reduce the calculation times (it currently takes about 20 minutes to calculate) if I could copy the named ranges from wokrbook 1 to workbook 2, thus limiting my external references (the named ranges would still refer to the cells in the first workbook, I would not be copying the data, just the "names"). Is there a way to do this all at once or will I have to recreate each range in the second workbook?

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
