Copying several columns

Hello. I download several spreadsheets monthly that have a large number of columns (A to EZ). In every excel spreadsheet I need to copy only 18 different columns of data from the sheet which are the same columns each month, and put them into a new spreadsheet. It is very time consuming to highlight and copy a few columns at a time throughout the whole sheet.

I am not very experienced in excel, but is there a simple way to copy all of these columns at once out of the spreadsheet and paste them at once into a new one? I would think there must be some way to enter the column letters I need to pull them out.

Thank you so much for any assistance. Greatly appreciated!

Thanks again for your help.
What I want to do is really quite simple, but it may just be harder to explain.

All of the 175 spreadsheets I download to work with each month all have columns A-EZ. It is just very time consuming to go through and highlight the 18 columns out of the sheet that I need and then paste them into a new sheet. I just wanted a simple macro I guess that would allow me to copy those same 18 columns from every sheet I open without having to go through and highlight/select each column manually. I can then just go and paste it into the sheet I need it in.

This just seems like something that is so simple it should be easily done as an option within excel...ie copy columns "D:D,F:F," etc.

Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
