I think the answer to my question is something to do with COUNTIF although I can not figure this out.
The spread sheet lists various items we are track when they were purchased, purchase type, delivery status etc.
I need help figuring out how many items with purchase type "ECAT" have been delivered.
Here is the formula I am trying and can not make work: =CountIF(Table2[Purchase Type/Source]= "ECAT", COUNTA(Table2[Delivery Complete]))
I look forward to getting help and learning more of Excel!
Thanks,
Soren

Sample data:
Purchase Type/SourcePurchase Order #Delivery Complete
PCAC583-A10047Yes
PCAC583-A10038Yes
ECAT
Micro583-Q15468
ECAT583-B10050Yes

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
How about
Excel Formula:
=CountIFS(Table2[Purchase Type/Source],"ECAT",Table2[Delivery Complete],"Yes")

Solution
Thanks that did the trick! I have not used the CountIFS before. I will explore more of how it works.
I have a tangential question, how would I count the number of purchase orders for the specific purchase types? I tried this formula although the results returned were not correct. =COUNTIFS(Table2[Purchase Type/Source],"Micro",Table2[Purchase Order],"*5")

Try
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS(Table2[Purchase Type/Source],"Micro",Table2[Purchase Order],"<>")

Thanks Fluff, what does help!
What does <> tell Excel to do? I am not familiar with what <> tells Excel to do, is it away to ignore empty cells?
