For the life of me I cannot remember how to do this and I know it is easy!!

I need a formula that refrences Text in column A but counts the corrosponding row in another column.

So John Smith's total for Owner would be 1 and for Logistics it would be 4.

Stacy Jones' total for Owner would be 2 and for Logistics it would be 3

Steve Henry's total for Owner would be 0 and for Logistics it would be 4
 Individual Owner Logistics Budget Actual John Smith yes yes \$ 37,889.00 \$ 36,358.12 John Smith yes \$ 198,889.00 \$ 156,723.53 John Smith yes \$ 59,766.00 \$ 53,328.45 John Smith yes \$ 66,889.00 \$ 56,016.88 Stacy Jones yes yes \$ 98,889.00 \$ 131,974.62 Stacy Jones yes yes \$ 85,739.00 \$ 85,339.96 Stacy Jones yes \$ 58,889.00 \$ 41,592.75 Steve Henry yes \$ 50,643.00 \$ 36,748.86 Steve Henry yes \$ 143,889.00 \$ 133,075.74 Steve Henry yes \$ 26,858.79 \$ 17,964.34 Steve Henry yes \$ 698,889.00 \$ 698,889.00

<COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 62pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 2998" width=82><COL style="WIDTH: 65pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3145" width=86><COL style="WIDTH: 73pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3547" width=97><COL style="WIDTH: 66pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3218" span=2 width=88><TBODY>
</TBODY>

### Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
In xl2007+ that's COUNTIFS:

=COUNTIFS(A:A,"John Smith",B:B,"Yes")

the criteria above could be references to cells holding those values.

Maybe
=SUMPRODUCT(--(A2:A11="John Smith")*(B2:B11="yes"))
or Pivot Tables perhaps
