Count colored cells

Can you please tell me how I can count the number of cells with a specific color associated to a specific item?
I attached an example. On the left the starting data, on the right the output that I want to get. I don't want to use excel filter.

Currently it is done manually. Why is it important?
I found this Count Colored Cells in Excel to count the colored cells, but I think I need to add a condition format for each single item (a,b,c,..)
