I have seen any tried many variations of VBA code to count coloured cells in excel - which work if the cells are manually coloured - however the cells in my requirement are coloured by conditional formatting - all options tried ignore the conditionally formatted cells....help anyone?

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.

You need to count the cells that meet the condition that triggers the Conditional Format.

Thanks for this, but I think I'm missing somthing!

my conditional format formula is =IF(MATCH($C$94,$G10:$J10,0),TRUE,FALSE) to turn the cell black if true.

I have tried =Countif(AA1:AA99,IF(MATCH($C$94,$G10:$J10,0),TRUE,FALSE)), but get nothing.
