I really appreciate if anyone can help me with the following:

Column A: Column B:
JANE DOE Jane
JANE DOE ------
JANE DOE Karla
JANE DOE Mike
JOHN DOE jane
JOHN DOE Jane
JOHN DOE ------
JOHN DOE -----
JOHN DOE ------

As you can see above Jane Doe has 3 names in column B, as John Doe has 2.

I need a formula which measures jane doe and how many filled names it has in column B. The same for John Doe.

THank you

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Maybe try:

=sumproduct(--(A1:A100="Jane Doe"),--(B1:B100<>"")

This is assuming the cells are blank and not ------.

Hope that helps.
