Hello Guys,

While I was working on my scription, I needed to count the occurance of "1)"
Excel finds it really hard to do this, I believe.

This is a little piece of my data:

So, I want to filter out, how many ,1) or 1)'s there are, how many 2)'s etc.

Is this actually possible?

Many thanks beforehand :)

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Hi Richard

Do you really need to enclose the reference in parentheses?

=COUNTIF((A1:J6); "*,1)")

Try deleting those parentheses.
