I am having a dreadful time trying to get a value using data from one sheet to a total in another sheet.

There are "load dates", and i need to count the total number of load dates at the end of a month, however, if the dates are for example 15-jan, 15-jan, 16-jan then i need the count to return a value of 2, not count every single date.

How can i do this? i have tried everything i can think of.....

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Hi smegson88,

Welcome to the MrExcel Board!

Try,

=COUNT(UNIQUEVALUES(your_range_here))

Hold Ctrl and Shift keys while pressing Enter.

To work this you need to install the MOREFUNC Add-In.

You can download it from here

Try,

=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A10<>"")/COUNTIF(A1:A10,A1:A10&""))

If you download the Morefunc addin, try this as well

=COUNTDIFF(A1:A10)
