I have two workbooks that are sharing data. I would like to use the countif in workbook 1 to pull from a datasheet in workbook 2.

Here is what I'm using.

=COUNTIF('[workbook2.xlsx]datasheet'!$A$1:$O$100,A3)

This returns #Value!

Any suggestions on how to use countif across workbooks?

Thank you!!

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
I just tested and my COUNTIF works across multiple books. Mine didn't have the " ' " marks in the formula, but even when I put them in, it still worked. I would hand type a "1" in your list and your data set to make sure the formula is working right.
