CountIf cell contents LEN = 9

Greetings,

i was looking for a formula to count the number of cells that i have in a column that have a cell length of 9.

- i want to identify SSN's that dont have 9 characters.

can you help??

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
turns sumproducts TRUE/FALSE values to boolean 1/0 for numerical value(s). it's a simple force. just what the N() function does.

converts the array of logicals returned by the length test to numbers so the sumproduct can sum them. things like {TRUE;TRUE:FALSE} become {1;1;0}.
