I have a list of names in col a...about 20 rows. However some of the names repeat. I would like to put a formula
in column B , possibly a countif that would exclude the repetitive names and just give that total .Thanks everybody

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
Total of the different Unique Names
=SUMPRODUCT(1/COUNTIF(A1:A20,A1:A20))

you have excel version 2010 or 2007 on profile
is that the version
otherwise
look at
unique () to provide the list of names
