Probably an easy one for you gurus

I want to put a formula at the end of each row of cells which counts
each cell which and has any text or numbers in it

something like countif not blank

any ideas

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.

How about something like this:

=COUNTA(A1:I1)

If formula-blanks (that is, "") must be excluded from the count...

=COUNTIF(Range,"?")+COUNT(Range)

This should be:

=COUNTIF(Range,"?*")+COUNT(Range)
