Countif not blank

Probably an easy one for you gurus

I want to put a formula at the end of each row of cells which counts
each cell which and has any text or numbers in it

something like countif not blank

any ideas

How about something like this:

=COUNTA(A1:I1)

=COUNTIF(Range,"?")+COUNT(Range)
