What is an example of the formula to:
Count the number of times a number appears in a list within a range.

for example,

Item List
50
35
34
32
50
45
50

The criteria range is:
Range:

<=5
6 to 10
11 to 19
20 to 29
30 to 39
40 to 49
50 to 59

etc

I would like to know a count of how many numbers fall with the above ranges.

Tks.

The<=5 spec appears to mean "from 0 to 5 inclusive".

The essetial formula is:

=COUNTIF($A$2:$A$8,">="&C2)-COUNTIF($A$2:$A$8,">="&C3)
where A2:A8 houses the numbers to count, C2 the lower limit, and C3 the upper limit such that the latter is the lower limit of the next between condition...

See the figure...
