COUNTIF Problem: multiple criteria

I have a nice formula (below) that counts any value in a cell range other than zero. I would also like the formula to exclude any cell that contains the letters TFA.

=COUNTIF(BK38:CZ38,"<>0")

Any ideas please?

=SUMPRODUCT(--(BK38:CZ38<>0),--(BK38:CZ38<>"TFA"))

That counts the empty/blank cells too? Is that your intent?

does this do?

=COUNTIF(BK38:CZ38,"<>*TFA*")

it is not case sensitive though
