I am trying to edit an already existing sheet and am tracking the completion of training and want to add the date. Current formula is =COUTIF(D2:AE2,"yes")/27. I want to be able to have the date the training was completed after the "yes" in the cells, but all dates will be different and there is a range of more than 3 years for some. I am not advanced in Excel so hopefully there is an easy way to make is calculate with "yes" and any date. Happy to rephrase or elaborate if this doesn't make sense. Any help is appreciated!

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Welcome to the Board!

It is not quite clear exactly what it is that you want to return (at least not to me). I think it will be much clearer if you could show us some sample data and expected results.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB Add-in

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.

How about
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIF(D2:AE2,"yes*")/27

Ah, I see. I thought the date was in another cell, which is why I was confused.
I didn't understand that the entry was "yes + date" all in same cell.
I am glad that Fluff understood it more clearly than I did, and gave you a solution.
