Hey All

I need an Excel 2013 formula to find the count of how many times a value appears in a column, with a unique value in another column - For example;

1645448357438.png

If I wanted to count 'Bathroom' then it would return 2 and for Kitchen it would return 1.

I've been messing around with COUNTIFS but can't seem to get it to work.

Can anyone help?

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
How about
Excel Formula:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(FREQUENCY(IF(B2:B8="Bathroom",MATCH(A2:A8,A2:A8,0)),ROW(B2:B8)-ROW(B2)+1)>0))

Solution
Excellent - That seems to do the trick!

Thanks Fluff - I'd never have got to that the way I was going :)
