I must be having an off day, I do not seem to be able in Excel (not VBA) to be able to cout the number of items remaining in a filtered list.

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
Tried that and got a lot of sub totals.

My test filter data is
TYPE DESC QTY
A THINGS 4
B THINGS 2
A THINGS 4
B THINGS 2
A THINGS 4
B THINGS 5

So if I filter TYPE on A's I want to have a counter respond that there are 3 of them.

Enter the formula once... not on every row of your data list.
