Hello,

I track incoming calls on a spreadsheet that I have my staff enter information such as State, Date and comments, there is also a REP field. I am trying to count how many calls each rep has taken, and how many calls from a specific state was also taken.

I do not mind doing this in multiple steps, but it is all done manually through sorting and subtotals, resorting and taking new subtotals. I would like to count State( NJ-45 calls, MD 100 calls....) as well as Rep (Mary 32 calls, Tom, 42 calls, Bob, 35 calls) and this would be counted each day ( 09/23/02, 09/24/02...)

I did try to use the DCOUNT functions but this did not seem to work.
Any Advice?

Thanks,

ghresko

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.

You can use COUNTIF to count the cells in a range that meet a specific criteria (Only one criteria), if you need more you can use DCOUNT.

For example,

=COUNTIF(A1:A10,"John")

will count all the cells in A1:A10 that are equal to Jhon.

If you need more than 1 criteria, can you put your current DCOUNT formula and the problem that you're having ?
