#1 I need to be able to count the series and tell if they win or loose so I can update my record. And I know the followingA Series Win = during a series game 1-3 where W/L = WinA Series Loss = a series 1-3 where there are no wins. A series does not count as a loss until you loose game #3.Matt

rbpd: When I see a post that has had 20 people read it and not even one answer, I know there's usually something odd with it.

Your post is extremely cryptic. To get you started:

1. Define what your series is. Is it numeric? Is it text?
2. Define where your series is. In column A starting with row 2 and going down 100 rows?

To get you started with simple count functions, check Excel's help system for count functions. You'll find COUNT(), COUNTA(), COUNTIF() as examples.

Further, you can check the articles section of MrExcel for introductions to functions.

I will try to make this clear a bet mlb baseball series. So each series has a unique series number starting at 1. Each series contains between 1 and 3 games.

So game one of det at tam would be series 1 game 1.

Where I am now is trying to record my series wins and losses.

A series win is any series where column L = "win".

A series loss is a series that goes winless.

A series does not count as a loss until game 1 2 and 3 are all losses. If a series has a loss for game 1 and a loss for game 2 and game 3 is blank, the series is not a loss and is waiting for the game 3 result to be posted.

The columns are as follows
C- series num
D- game num
E- bet team
F- home or away. This data is a list either "at" or "vs". This is needed so I can sort wins and losses for home and road series w/l's
G- vs team
M- "win" or "loss"

I want to put the data in the following location.
C3 - total wins
D3 - total loses
F3 - home wins
G3 - home losses
I3 - road wins
J3 - road losses
