I want to count the years and months to the present day from a specific date and update every time I open it (rather than between two fixed dates). For example, in my current book I have the date 29 Aug 19 in H5 and in I5 I want it to show how many years and months from that date to the day when I open it.

Thanks for your help.

Excel Joke
Why can't spreadsheets drive cars? They crash too often!
Check if it is this way

=(YEAR(H5) - YEAR(TODAY()))*12 + MONTH(H5) - MONTH(TODAY())

I suggest that you update your Account details (click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

Maybe
Excel Formula:
=DATEDIF(H5,TODAY(),"y")&" years "&DATEDIF(H5,TODAY(),"ym")&" months"
