I simply would like to count from today up. Everyday a day goes by I want it to add a day so first day the box reads 1 then the next day the box reads 2 and so on.

Can someone help me out on that?

Thanks

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
I would suggest a static date in one cell and a today() formulae in anouter and another with a dated if formulae in it. this will then count the day difference betweeen the 2 dates..

you could do as bsnapool suggested with 1 less fomula.

cell a1 contains static date you decide as a starting point

cell a2 =today()-a1

format cell a2 as number, NOT date.
