Counting entries, ignore duplicates

Suppose I have a list like so:

ZC00661
ZC00662
ZC00663
ZC00663
ZC00664

Is there a way to count the number of unique entries ignoring the duplicate ZC00663? OR, a way to delete the duplicates? Then counting is easy by looking at the line number?

I'm fairly new to excel so please be explicit when responding. Thanks so much!
