Counting problem

I have a list of sorted item #'s and would like to * each line that has only 1 occurence of that item -

Item #
1
1
2 *
3
3
3
4 *
5 *
6
6

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Hello,

assuming your data is in Col A

put this in B1 and coipy down

=IF(COUNTIF(A:A,A1)>1,"","*")
