This must be a really easy one.I have the following formula in column C
=IF(ISERROR(MATCH($B2,$A$2:$A$150,0)),B2,"").
I then want to count the number of items found but COUNTA does not work. What do I use ?

Excel Facts

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
You could use an array formula to count the cells in column C that are not blank:

=sum((C2:C150<>"")*1)

Remember to enter the formula using Ctrl + Shift + Enter or it wont work.

=ROWS($C$2:$C$150)-COUNTBLANK($C$2:$C$150)

You say: "I then want to count the number of items found," but your match formula produces in C the B-values which are not found in A.
