I have a list that has employee names on column A, days of the month on column B and then either their lunch time or "dayoff" on column C.
I then have a list with employee names and date ranges relating to sick leaves. I need to be able to count on the first list how many workdays were missed due to the sick leaves on list 2.
I've attached an example.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm not quite sure how to even start here.

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
I would calculate in column J and for each row the number of missed days using the formula =NETWORKDAYS(G3,H3)
Then I would create a PivotTable report that sum up for each Name the missed days

If you don't like the PivotTable, after calculating col J as above:
-Create in L3 the list of names using =UNIQUE(G3:G20)
-then in M3 calculate the missed days using =SUMIF($G$3:$G$20,L3#,$J$3:$J$20)
