<p class=MsoNormal>Hi!</p>
<p class=MsoNormal>In Excel 2013, you can do that from the Ribbon:</p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:.5in'><b>INSERT / Charts / PivotChart /
PivotChart</b></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>This opens the <b>Create PivotChart</b> popup.<br>
There, most of the time, I select:</p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:.5in'><b>Use an external data source</b></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>followed by:</p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:.5in'><b>Choose Connection...</b></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>This opens the <b>Existing Connections</b> popup/.<br>
There, I chose the <b>Tables</b> tab and select the table I wish.</p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Alternatively, in the <b>Create PivotChart</b> popup, you
could select a table and then select the option:</p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:.5in'><b>Add this data to the Data Model</b></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><br>
I observed that it is the existence of a Data Model in the workbook that makes
it possible to create PivotCharts without any PivotTable. This is the only
reason why I finally switched to Excel 2013 !!! It relieved me of the burden of
maintaining some 100 useless PivotTables.</p>
<p class=MsoNormal>However, from time to time I need to see a PivotChart as a
PivotTable in order to understand what is behind and check if I made some
mistakes. It could also be useful during meetings.</p>
<p class=MsoNormal>For this reason a quick way to generate the PivotTable from
a PivotChart would be a very useful feature/tool.</p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Thanks for any suggestion!</p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Michel</p>
