Hello,
Is there a way I can create a link in excel to go to a specific name on a different worksheet in the same workbook? I am trying to create a link in cell J4, Candidate Notes, that will located his name on a separate worksheet in the same workbook labeled CANDIDATE NOTES. Is there a way to do this? If I wanted this link to find his name anywhere in the workbook, is there also a link to do that?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Almost anything is possible.

What does the CANDIDATE NOTES worksheet look like?

How many rows of notes is there likely to be for each person?

Thank you for your response! I have placed a screenshot of what my notes worksheet looks like. Some candidates have lines of notes while others may only have a few notes.

It would easier to just select cell J4, for example and the code could activate the Notes worksheet and go to the first row
containing notes for that person. This is asuming that the Notes worksheet is ordered by the persons name.

Alternatively, the Notes worksheet could be filtered to just display rows for the person selected.
The notes do not need to be in any specifc order if this method is used.

Which of these methods do you prefer?

I think I would prefer the process of selecting a cell to go to the first row containing notes for that person. Would that be creating a hyperlink as described below and adding the correct cell where noted?

If I do that, I can't delete or insert any rows because the cell reference will change, correct? That seems to be my issue

So what happens if the cell changes when additional notes are added above the referenced cell?

So using the range Find method and not using a hyperlink will get around this.

What happens if two people have the same name?

Do people have an ID number which is unique to them?

I haven't encountered two people with the same name yet but I could always assign something like that. I'm not sure how to use the FIND method. Are you able to help me through that?

Of course.

Do you need the blank line under the headers?

What are the names of the two worksheets?
