I created a drop down list but unless I click on that cell where the drop down list is, I cannot see the dropdown aarow. How can I set up my sheet to be able to see that drop down aarow and tell that it's a dropdown?

Excel Facts

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Make sure that on the Data Validation - Settings tab when you selected List from the Allow options the In-cell dropdown check box was ticked.

The In-cell dropdown check box is ticked but the drop down still doesn't show unless I acutally click on that cell. Other users won't know that it's a drop down b/c they can't see it. Any other suggestions?

Did you ever figure out how to make the arrow appear even when the cell is not selected on a data validation dropdown list?

I'd like to do the same thing. I don't want to use a combo box from the forms toolbar.

If you use data validation there is no way for the arrow to be seen at all times. You have to color the cell, make a note or use a combo box
