Hi,

I have a spreadsheet for work that requires updating weekly with the addition on new data and the subtraction of old data.

I would like to know if it's possible to have a cell automatically fill with a colour depending on the value of two other cells this cell has to change depending on the date.

The first cell contains a product that we ship - 11 different products and would require the cell to be coloured to change depending on the product

The second cell will contain a date.

It all sound complicated due to the way explained above.

I've been told that it's possible but not sure where to start.

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
You can certainly colour the cell to reflect a product, use conditional formatting with the highlight cell rules, cells that contain text options, fill with desired coulour. Repeat for each product then apply the formatting to the relevant cells...

I'm not sure what you mean about filling dependant on 2 conditions though, if you want to change the colour of fill for product AND date, that may be tricky! Is it easier to insert a column for date and again apply conditional formatting dependant on date, the option is in there!

If this is no good, try to be more specific and see what comes up!
