Creating a table with months and years given a start date

Hi, this is the first of a series of challenges I have with excel.

I would like to have the user of my spreadsheet enter a date. I would then use that date to populate a number of cells based on the length of the contract (also added by the user). The first cell should show the month from the date given. The cell to the right the next month. Beneath these should be the year of the date given. As the months progress the date will progress into the next year. The month number should change to 1 and the year cell to the next year.

I would also like a figure to appear in the correct cell of this table based on the start month + a number of months also specified by the user.

Example:

Start date 1/8/2016
Delay in payment 6 months

Payments 10000$
Month 8 9 10 11 12 1 2 ...
Year 2016 2016 2016 2016 2016 2017 2017 ...

Any help would be, of course, greatly appreciated.

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
The formatting program removed all the spaces in my post. The months progress as they normally would and the payment should appear above the cells that contain 2 & 2017.

Thanks
Ken
