Hi,

I'm creating a growth trend with a group of data and I'm stuck trying to find a way to automate this with a formula without manually using trial and error to arrive at the values.

The graph representing the growth trend charts number of man-hours for a department by week from January - December 2013. The sum of man-hours for the year is 22,793.

There are 52 total weeks in the year. The first 34 weeks of the year each have the same value: 431 hours. As of week 35, This leaves 8,139 hours remaining and 18 weeks remaining.

On the 35th week of the year, hours need to begin gradually increasing to finish at the target of 22,793 hours.
Doing this manually, I arrived at the following values for weeks 35 - 52 to get to my target:

Week # & Value:
35 433
36 435
37 437
38 439
39 441
40 443
41 445
42 447
43 449
44 451
45 454
46 457
47 460
48 463
49 466
50 469
51 472
52 478

Is there an excel formula I could have used to get a similar result putting me at a grand total of 22,793 hours and starting at any value more than 431 at week 35? I have about 30 - 40 other graphs I have to apply the same methodology to and I'm hoping to avoid writing all of it manually through trial and error.

Any help would be much appreciated!
-Drew
