Credit Card# masking help

I work in the credit card industry and often need to provide large groups of merchant's batch data safely.

Can someone please assist with a formula that allows the first 6 and last 4 of a sixteen digit account number to be visible while replace then middle 6 numbers with "x". Once I have the formula, I can special paste the values and remove the original data.

(i.e.,original data 12345678123456789, end result = 123456xxxxxx6789)

Excel Facts
