How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
What happened when you manually hid some rows and tried it?

When you used autofilter to hide some rows and tried it?

It appears to only paste/fill in the visible cells but I wanted to be sure. I thought someone could confirm. I don't want to continue to use and find out some hidden cells are also being sporadically filled in error.

I generally use the handle to fill, so I thought I'd test this.
For me it fills in whether rows are visible or not (excel 2016).

When you select a cell or range, there's a small square at the bottom-right of the selection marquee. That's the fill handle.

If you hover the mouse over it, the cursor changes to a cross. Then you can right-click and drag it to copy.
