Hi,

I used ctrl+f to search for Yellow cells. Reason is I want to protect the sheet, and only Yellow cells are editable. However, the ctrl+f function only works on certain sheets. Some sheets, it only select few yellow cells, not all. May I know is there any other way to do this? I have more than 40 sheets in the workbook, can I use any function to do this one time or need to do it on each and every sheet?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Are the sheets is does not work on Protected?
No. The sheets are not protected right now. What I'm doing now is select the yellow cells first, unlock it, and then only protect the sheet. I'm doing it sheet by sheet.

Thanks,
Irene

Are any of your yellow cells colored by Conditional Formatting rather than being manually set?

Are some merged cells and some not ?
I think you are going to have to do is twice once with the Merged cells box ticked (or based on a yellow merged cell) and once without the merged cells box ticked (or based on a yellow non-merged cell)
Unless @Rick Rothstein knows of another way of doing it.

Hi!

For those yellow cells, they are not merged. Some other cells are merged.

Thanks!

Sorry I need to just clarify. Are some of the yellow cells merged and some not merged and is the find only finding "all of one" of the 2 types ?

Hi!

All the yellow cells are not merged. I tried 'finding' the yellow cells by selecting the cells in different locations; not sure why sometimes it says no cells found or only some yellow cells are selected.

Thanks!

Are you able to share the workbook (at least 1 of the sheets) that have the issue via Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive or any other sharing platform make it available anyone with the link and post the link here ?
