Hi
I am trying to search for a date in my excel sheet. So I click on Ctrl + F and typed the date. No matter how I type the date, it wont be able to find it. How to search for a date? should I use the same exact format when I search or any format, DD-MM-YY or MM-DD-YY or what? I tried all, nothing works. Thank you so much.

113-Mar-1903-Apr-19
203-Apr-1925-Apr-19
323-Apr-1925-Apr-19
424-Apr-1925-Apr-19
530-Apr-1901-May-19
602-May-1906-May-19
703-May-1907-May-19
806-May-1920-May-19
Sheet2

PS: I just tried this.. I cleared the format of these dates (CLear-->format) then I went to Home-->Number-->Short date. The I copied one date and went to CTRL+F and paste that date and excel found it. So is that the solution? Do I have to change the format? Thank you

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Hello Lezawang,
type in the search box this "30.4.2019"

I have just checked and in Ctrl + F it should find your dates. Could you upload a version of the data exactly as you have it without the adjusted format so we can take a look and see what the issue is.

Update.. when I click on a cell and go to formula bar, I see this date 06/05/2019
When I search for this date exactly this format then I will find it.. but when I use 06-may-19, it wont find it, or when I use 06-05-19, it wont find it.
Yes I am going to upload the file. Thank you so much

Is your dates typed latin or cyrillic.
Try to search with fonts that document is typed.

Hi the font is Calibri. Not sure what do you mean but latin or cyillic.
I copied one cell and then Ctrl+F and paste the cell content and click on search, excel did not find it! thank you.

When I open on google drive I see dates with cyillic letters ("13-мар-19").
Maybe is up to my location. Forget.
When I open downloaded file it is normal, and search works with this type of search "30.4.2019".

I think it doesn't find because of the Font. If you try this it will work.

Choose empty cell and then use Ctrl + F then choose the format Under Font change the font from Calibri (Body) to Calibri and font as regular and size as 12. Give that ago and it should work.
